La Vista Desde Mi Ventana

Algunos días son lluviosos,
Otros solamente nublados,

Both sides in Venezuela’s political stand-off will hold rival demonstrations [today] after authorities rejected opposition demands for a presidential election recount and protesters clashed with police in Caracas.

Opposition sources say their count showed Capriles won by more than 300,000 votes. His team says it has evidence of some 3,200 election day irregularities, from allegations of voters using fake IDs to intimidation of volunteers at polling centres.

There are photo’s circulating of armed forces mobilising in Venezuela and there are even claims that the country is about to descend into a civil war following what many people claim was a rigged election. It is known that the military have used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse protesters.

Some bloggers have claimed that ballot boxes were burned and that dissidents are being killed, however this has yet to be verified.

As of this moment there are no credible sources reporting on the political situation in Venezuela right now. I’ll keep y’all posted.

I fucking live here, in Caracas, and I can tell y’all straight up. It’s a fucking madhouse out there.
